MRI — see the body's soft side.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging captures astonishingly detailed images of internal organs, soft tissues, brain and spine — without using ionising radiation. Every study at Pioneer Imaging is acquired and interpreted by Dr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, MD Radiology.
Calibrated daily. Calmly run. Carefully read.
Powerful magnets, precise pictures.
An MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves — not X-rays — to build extraordinarily detailed images of the inside of your body. Different tissues respond to the magnetic field in different ways, and the scanner translates those tiny differences into the high-resolution slices your doctor can read.
Because there is no ionising radiation involved, MRI is exceptionally safe and is the imaging tool of choice for soft-tissue and neurological evaluation — from a slipped disc to a suspected stroke.
Every MRI at Pioneer Imaging is acquired using carefully tuned protocols matched to your symptoms, then read by an MD radiologist for an accurate, doctor-ready report.

Your MRI, step by step.
- Check-in & safety screening. Our staff confirms your symptoms, prior reports, and asks the metal-implant safety questions.
- Change & settle. A private changing room and locker; you'll wear a comfortable gown if needed.
- Positioning. The technologist positions you on the bed with cushions, blankets and headphones — and stays in two-way contact.
- The scan itself. 15–45 minutes of intermittent thumping sound. Stay relaxed and still; breathe normally.
- Reporting. Dr. Shekhawat reviews your study; a detailed report is typically ready the same day.
How to prepare for your MRI.
Wear comfortable clothing
Loose clothing without metal zips or buttons works best. We provide a gown if needed.
Inform us about implants
Pacemakers, cochlear implants, metal clips, recent surgery or pregnancy — please tell us in advance.
Eat & drink normally
For most MRI scans you can eat and drink normally — MRCP and abdominal MRI may need fasting; we'll guide you.
Bring prior reports
Old MRI / CT films, prescriptions and lab reports help us tailor protocols and provide a comparative read.
Arrive 10 minutes early
Arriving a little early gives time for paperwork, safety screening and a relaxed start to your scan.
Bring a companion if you wish
Anxious about enclosed spaces? A family member can wait with you in the prep area before and after the scan.
MRI, answered honestly.
Is an MRI scan safe?
Yes. MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves rather than ionising radiation, making it one of the safest imaging tests available. The main precautions concern metal implants and certain devices, which we screen for thoroughly.
How long will my scan take?
Most MRI scans take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the body part being studied and whether contrast is required. We will give you a more accurate estimate at booking.
Will I feel anything during the scan?
You will not feel the magnetic field. The scanner makes loud knocking sounds — we provide headphones and a panic button so you stay comfortable and in control.
When will my report be ready?
For nearly all studies, your detailed report is ready the same day. You can collect a printed copy or have it sent digitally via email or WhatsApp.
Do I need to fast?
For most MRI scans, no — eat and drink normally. For MRCP and certain abdominal studies, a 4–6 hour fast is needed. Our team will tell you when you book.
Is it safe if I have a pacemaker or implant?
Some implants are MRI-compatible and some are not. Always tell us about any pacemaker, cochlear implant, metal clip or recent surgery before booking — we will verify safety carefully.
